Important message for parents

Dear parent, we have spoken to all students regarding the importance of following procedures to ensure the safe and sustainable reopening of the school. These procedures, such as, wearing a mask and being in assigned class/overflow room, are vitally important for the safety of all members of the school community and for contact tracing purposes. If a student is not following these procedures, her parents will be called and asked to collect her from school. Thank you.

Congratulations to Natalia and Dominika Timulakova (6th year)

As a result of her excellent performance (3rd place) in the recent national final of the All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO), Natalia has earned a place on the four-person international team representing Ireland in the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL) 19-23 July 2021. Dominika narrowly missed out on a place on the Irish team, placing 5th in the final. Well done to both students!









1st, 2nd & 3rd Year Bake Along

Well done to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Year students who took part in the virtual bake along sessions on Tuesday. Each year group baked 'Ultimate Chocolate Cakes' with Ms Molloy, Ms Morris and Ms Cusack. Those students who couldn't bake encouraged their peers and showed great support for their wonderful creations. 1st year students also made some great St. Patrick's Day crafts. Well done everyone!









HFC Wellness Day

A big congratulations to Kate McGovern (3rd year). Kate’s poem that she wrote in 1st year, a week after starting in Holy Faith, has been published in the new edition of the ‘Fire and Ice’ textbook. It is now being used to teach the young people of Ireland how to rhyme! Well done Kate.

Language Pathways Competition winner.

Congratulations to Catherine McCluskey in 6th Year who won first prize in the Languages Pathways Competition. Inspired by the Persian quote « A new language is a new life » Catherine submitted a video of herself speaking in French and Spanish with her thoughts on the matter. The judges really enjoyed her fun, multilingual and creative entry. She will receive her prize at an online awards ceremony on Monday 8th March. Bravo Catherine, this is well deserved !

Sophie Greene and Aideen Brunicardi walk 42km in aid of Merchants Quay Ireland

Well done to Sophie Greene and Aideen Brunicardi, 1st year students, who walked 42 km on Sunday 7th February in -3 degrees, in aid of Merchants Quay Ireland. It took them 11 hours from 8am to 7 pm - all within their 5 kms zone . They raised approximately €2000 for the organisation, A fantastic achievement - well done!









Lockdown Bakes of HFC!

Home Economics students have been involved in some 'bake along' classes with their Home Ec teachers. Well done to all of the students for getting involved and for working so well in their virtual cookery classes.
