Congratulations to our senior debaters- Arianna Ceraldi, Phoenix Hickson-Pitt, Emma Kearns, Rachel Casey, Alannah Hamill (6th Years) and Rachel Morrissey (TY) who all got through to the quarter finals of the Leinster Debates. The quarter finals were held in Trinity College on Tuesday evening, 10th Feb. The motion was ‘This House as the government of a newly decolonized country, would seek to appease rather than oppose their former colonial rulers.’ We are very proud of all the girls for getting this far in the competition. Out of 197 competitors they had come in the top 32 teams and individual speakers. The sixth year debaters are to be particularly commended for their resilience and commitment as debates took place in the middle of their mocks.
Thank you to 6th Years- Fae O’Doherty, Grace Maloney, Sophie Morris, Vicky Breen and Sophie Timmins who joined us on the night to support the girls
Well done to Emma Kearns who has qualified for the semi-finals, to be held on Feb 24th in UCD.
